Israel's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has just launched a new public-awareness campaign calling on the general public - and especially private homeowners and residents of shared buildings - to hurry and install rooftop solar panels before the window for the best feed-in tariffs closes at the end of 2026. The message is clear: whoever joins now enjoys the best financial terms the state currently offers.
Why now? The feed-in tariff you lock in today stays with you for the entire life of the system - which is why timing is worth real money. According to reports in the financial press, the Electricity Authority is advancing a tariff reform under which the best rate for rooftop-solar owners - roughly 48 to 54 agorot per kilowatt-hour today - is expected to be gradually reduced, down to about 35 agorot for anyone installing from 2027 onward. In other words: the exact same system will yield less if you start the process too late. That is precisely the "train" the campaign is urging you not to miss.
