LV Battery Safety – IEC 62109 Update

Israel adopted IEC 62109-3 with two LV requirements: 60-minute fire-rated enclosure boards and dedicated smoke detection tied to the alarm panel.

Installers must also certify six air changes per hour or direct exterior venting for batteries above 10 kWh.

The certificate is now part of the grid-connection packet and must stay on site for inspections.
